Under Estimated

Shawnte hired MOVE IT! by bike to assemble her new office desk at her law firms new location.  I figured it would take around two hours for two people to put together so quoted her $120.00 for the job.  Our team arrived on time and waited for Shawnte to arrive to get started.  Once Shawnte arrived we got straight to work.  We soon discovered that parts were missing and determined that one box for the desk was not delivered.  So we assembled the hutch and the file cabinet which took three and a half hours.  At this point MOVE IT! by bike is going to lose $20.00 on the job because I am going to pay my guys what I owe them.  But we were not finished.  The desk was not assembled.  We would have to wait until the the missing parts of the desk arrived.  Two weeks later the others parts arrived and Tim (the owner of MOVE IT! by bike) put the desk together himself.  This way he would get the job done but not go to much in the hole on labor costs.  It took another 4 hours to put the desk together and mount the hutch on it.  Shawnte gladly paid the estimated $120.00 for 11 man hours.  She got a deal and I got an education on giving estimates on furniture assembling.
