King Move

Moving only a couple of blocks seems easy but doing so in the CBD makes it not so easy.  MOVE IT! by bike was asked to move a king sized bed with frame along with an 8 drawer dresser from the 200 Carondelet Building to 925 Common.  Our client had planned to have the bed disassembled but something happened to those plans and we were asked to disassemble and reassemble the bed.  We had to work around our client's work schedule so the move was scheduled to start at 4:30PM. Yes during rush hour.  We arrived at 4:15 and got started early.  We parked our two trailers on the side walk next to the curb out of the way of pedestrians and not taking up any parking spots.  Furniture dollies and carts were employed to bring everything down from the 22nd floor and loaded onto the trailers.  

At the 925 Common location we were able to unload inside the parking deck.  We were told that the freight elevator was not working and so used the people elevators.  It was not until our last load the we were told by another person that the freight elevator was working and so used it to haul up the large and heavy dresser.  The whole process took 3 hours and 15 minutes.
